General Spektrum DX5e/DX7 throttle diff with trainer chord HELP

Hi,
I have a new guy on the RCH trainer, He has a DX7, I bought a DX5e and trainer chord. We can't get the
DX5E (slave) to throttle the plane down very much. It does throttle up to MAX so it is not reversed. I'm kinds new to the Spektrum radios. No clue how to change this.:(
 
is your Throttle trim switch centered? Maybe you can lower the Throttle Trim switch so that it won't give as much, therefore slowing down.
