Here's an early '70s RC Helicopter by Dubro . . .

No gyros back then :)


This was my first purchased Heli . . . the Micro Mold Lark . . . made in Jolly Old England . . . .

Back then most kits had tail rotors driven by a shaft.

What know 3D?....

That radio reminded me of the old Kraft sets...Wonder what happened to them...

The first radio I had was a MacGreggor...They got taken over by JR....

Sure it does 3D, it's going to vibrate right out of the video:) Today we would be worried about the slightest wiggle.

Keith, It is a Kraft. Just before he removes the cover to expose the pots and switches, if you pause the video, you'll see the name "Phil Kraft . . . Signature Series". I'll have to dig out my old later model signature series and see if it still works :

I still have parts of my Lark. I had blowup pontoons for training gear. Might fit those on my 500.

Whirlybird (Frank) use to be on here daily. Haven't seen him around for nearly a year :(
I found out yesterday that the first ever RC heli was flown in 1941 :eek1:

Wow 1941, I'm going to see if there's any YouTube vids on old rc helis, very interesting I think

Just watched it on YouTube, by Arthur young, fascinating stuff..

1941 Whirlybird would have to qualify as our oldest Pilot from the previous thread, great video, I threw out my old Kraft set about 2 years ago due to battery corrosion, still have the servos.
