VisionAire meets Tree

New camera mount works fine, I need to pitch it up 2-3 mm. Other then that I was happy with it. Of course until I misjudged where I was and crashed hard into a tree. Can't get it down, waiting for a buddy to bring a chainsaw to get my plane down.

That really sucks, Ken! The flight was going really really well! It's just an awesome plane!

It's amazing how you can lose your depth perception and then Whammo!!! I did the same thing to my motor glider last year, I think it was last year, may have been the year before. The flight was going really well and Whammo! That tree put a serious beating on my plane. I do hope your VisionAire isn't as bad as my plane was.

I love the sound it made when it hit. There was no wondering what happened. Unfortunately it has been raining and my plane is still up in the tree. I am getting a chainsaw tomorrow to cut the tree down. If you look closely at this pic you'll see why it won't fall out on its on. The right wing has a branch about 3-4 inches into the wing. found the propeller on the ground under the tree.

Hope the electronics are under enough foam that they stay dry. sigh...

Thanks Graham. I got up about 10-12 feet and was finding it hard to breath already and needed to go another 18 feet. It stormed that night, we had horizontal rain and it was enough to knock it down. I'm just glad the guys at the club found it and locked it in the shed. I called the hobby shop I frequent and one of the guys had someone telling him about finding the plane. So the owner of the store called and got them to drop it off there and I picked it up tonight, I'm so lucky. Can't believe I was happy to get my wrecked plane. So far $88 dollars. Haven't checked electronics yet, give them another day to dry out. It appears the battery was disconnected either at point of impact or as it fell out of the tree but the guy who found it said it was next to the plane so may be OK...
