450 450 to 480 stretch parts search

Can anyone point me to a reliable place to get parts for a 450-480 stretch? I've looked at Tarot and most of their stuff is all "pre-order". That might be "good enough" but are there other places?

Yep...definitely 6s

i think you would be able to use the parts from the 6s 450L boom, tt, and boom supports.

oh wow....it didn't even occur to me that the 450L parts would help.....that's a 450-480 stretch. Thanks Dan! I was tired when I posted my question, above, and just overlooked it, lol.

The 450 stretch (480) originally all began when the Outrage G5 was released, people used the outrage g5 tail booms to stretch their 450s, then Tarot came in the scene, alzrc followed, then the Warp, then the X3 and now you can get the 450L. Tarot provides reasonable quality extension kits, if you want something better you can use 450L parts to extended your 450 pro.

PS the Devil 480 is sub standard in quality, alzrc has really dropped their game, they either need to drop their prices like HK or improve on their quality.

Thanks for your two cents! I was given an HK frame and head, a while back, and I have been considering swapping out some parts and stretching the HK frame.

I have been looking for a while had the dominator parts in mind for the stretch, but to go down the stretch road I would have to get the elects to go with it as it would be no point on 3s,

so

new motor
esc
batteries
blades main and tail
boom and tt assy
tail push rod

and looking at the size of the batteries its gonna be a tight fit under the 450 dfc canopy, I know it can be done as plenty have done it before but think it would be better to get the dominator airframe as a base to start from, and it has a better battery position as well.

It's more expensive going on the stretch route, I get more power on a 4S standard size heli, than a 6S stretch, and I don't need to change my esc or motor, just the pinion. :)

That's why i like my Guai. I don't think anything needs replaced on my kit. My electrics only need the motor, blades and batteries.

One nice thing about the align is the fact that they used the same battery placement as the X3.

If i had a choice to do it again i would stick with my current setup minus the motor and packs.

It would be nice if gaui kept a standard in all their helis. If you look at the X7 and compare with the X3, different heads. What's the deal with that??? I like the idea if I buy a 700 heli I'd like it to look very similar to my 300 size heli. If you know what I mean? Other than that gaui is starting to develop into a better company, creating products with quality, it's evolving much like align.

The X3 is almost a dead replica of the X7. Yes there are some things different do to size. With Gaui producing the latest stuff they could very well surpass align.

I can only say this, my X3 plowed into concrete and my only damage was tail boom assembly, skids, main and spindle shafts. Every thing else was non airframe related. The failure was my fault, popped a servo link.

I have a video linked on here of the crash.

The X7 use the old walkera design head almost a DFC design.

The X3 uses the 3G design head

Yes both kits have different head designs. I am sure when Gaui planed the X3 they looked at the X7 for ideas. I can attest that the X3 does not need that much bulk in the head and swash. Really the only thing I can see out side of shape is that the X7 uses a dfc type design where the swash followers have been removed. The other thing that is different is the pitch link followers, it appears this is how they were able to remove the swash followers with out going full dfc.

Just keep in mind that each kit will produce way different loads on the head. The X3 ( at about 2 pounds) being thrown around is going to be less load than an X7 (at about 12 pound). Each head was designed for its application.
