Ok i started my hk500gt canopy i bought 5 off Ebay for pretty cheap i gave one to kenjack and i have started painting 1... I started by scuffing the entire surface with a green scratch pad.. Then i wiped of entire surface with a microfiber towel dipped in rubbing alcohol...
After it dries completely sprayed a silver paint as a base coat since i will be using some candy paints in the scheme that way the candy paint shows better.. I then use a thin vinyl car pinstripe to make outline of the canopy window the words align are vinyl decals i had printed up at a local print shop...
As you will see i have already started out by making everything of i am using green frog tape but i recommend using the yellow frog tape since it is for delicate surfaces

Theses canopies actually have no opening on the bottom for airflow so i had to cut a opening...

I plan on doing the Lil spikes or scallops whatever they are called at the top and bottom of the canopy window right here

I have started making with the green tape

Here is the pinstripe i used

And this is what i used for the silver base coat as you can see from the earlier pic it looks like a good silver flake paint

It is made by a branch off company of house of Kolor...
And here are the spikes

I need to touch up the base coat at the spikes which is why i said to use the yellow frog tape green is just to sticky..
