Just saying hi,
I'm not new to RC, I started flying with my father back in the 1970's. That's when transmitters has 4ft long antenna, you couldn't fly without a frequency peg. All planes were made of balsa and had screaming glow (nitro) engines, or they were gliders, 'dope' was stuff you painted your plane with, electric power planes were unknown, RC helis were a strange curiosity seen occasional in the monthly RC magazine and a 'drone' was an annoying noise. So have been in the hobby for a while and things have changed
Over the years I always flew fixed wing. I had helis down in the 'too hard' category but three years or so ago I built myself a cheap 450 clone and never looked back. I've now got a fair old collection of helis, the latest is my Goblin 770 Carbon Comp which I picked up just before Christmas. I probably started too old to become an ace 3D heli flyer but I can fly ok and I very rarely crash, so that's enough for me.
I still fly fixed wing but not as much as the helis, but it's good to keep my hand in on both, helps to keep it interesting.
Oh, and a explanation on the user name... I meant to type 'Grumpy' in the box by my stupid fingers hit the 'n' instead on the 'm'... So I might look at a change of user name if it's possible?
Happy New Year!
