General power supply for iMAX Balance Charger using Old Laptop charger

wow... I got all of my parts ordered for RC stuff.
RadioLink AT9 - Transmitter with RXs (9ch and 6ch)
Lipo Batteries 11.1v 3S (2200mAh)
iMAX Balance Charger with some cables
Servos 9g
Brushless motors 1000kv and 2200kv
ESCs (20A 30A 40A)
and many Props 2s and 3s.

I'm very exited to build my first plane ever.
BUT...


I forgot to order any power supply for iMAX balance Charger. But I already own one adopter...i.e.

I dont know how much Amps does it flows. i think 500mAs... not sure exactly.
Can i use this as input power for iMAX BC?

It also has a cable with two crocodile/Alligator clips (from) and a male plug (into) iMAX BC...

Can I use these jaws with my old laptop's charger? My "Acer laptop's charger" gives output 19V , 3.42A. I can cut off laptop charger's plug and connect it with crocodile/Alligator jaw clips.?

You will be limited by the current of the supply voltage. The lappy PS at 3.42 amps will not allow you to charge at the full 5 amp the iMax can charge at.

In a tutorial of Balance charger (youtube video) that actually introduced me this iMAX charger, the guy told, always charge your battery with less amps than of your battery... if battery is of 2.2amps than charge it with lower value of amps. i.e 1.8 etc. Following this, your battery will last longer..

by following same technique... shouldn't this lappy charger work ?
