Prop Should I add canards to my flying wing?

Hey all. I've got this foam board plank-style pusher flying wing that flies semi-ok. Its main issue is that it is tail heavy as I built the fuselage too short. I am going to extend the fuselage forward to counteract this and was thinking of adding a control-surfaceless plank-style canard at the front to improve efficiency (or at least that is what I have heard). Is this a dumb idea that will end horribly for my plane, or will it provide additional stability/efficiency? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you guys have!

It's just foam board... should be easy enough to add and if you don't like how it flies, take it back off or rebuild. IMO... it's all subjective and in the end, it's what you think or want that is important.
