What Did You Do Today???

it's super quiet with no one else posting, so this may be quite the challenge.
Give it time. I think everyone took some time off like you did lol. Sorry about the rx Tony, I sent it snail mail so it will be a little late. Let me know when the rx shows up.

No worries, Ivan! I do think you are right about people taking time off. GPS and the FAA have really put a hurt on this hobby and I'm hoping with all of the changes that are going on, at least the FAA BS will start to relax a bit. Wishful thinking, I know, but one can dream lol.

Yeah, for the first time, the new park ranger try to tell me I can't fly drones in the park no less helis after 13yrs flying there. I had to straighten him out. He try to push state law on me. Problem is that the county runs this park, not the state. I told him he needs to know the differance between a drone and a fpv racing quad and that I flew for the sheriff dept. search and resuce unit. and if he still has doughts call his boss. I have permission from the township parks manger to fly there...his boss lmao. Next day I talked to the parks manger and told him he needs to get his new guys straight out. He laugh and said he would. Haven't had any KAREN bother me since.

Not gonna lie, when the wife said it was mailed in an envelope, I was a little worried lol. But was like, eh, if it's broke, I can probably fix it lol. But, with the wires and the plastic antenna holder, that created room to where their machines could not smash the board. Arrived perfectly fine! Trying to figure out how I want to do the build then I will get started on it.

But first, the wife is making Taco's! :cool1:

I got this craftsman bandsaw from the salvage yard today for $40. It was dirty and had a few things out of adjustment. I spent about 2 hours and took it apart to clean it and get all the rust off. The thing looks as if it hasn't been used very much at all. Very little wear on the drive wheels. It even had a blade in it! The thing runs like new! 20250826_180030.jpg

I don't know why it's in landscape. It wasn't taken like this.

Today, I managed to wake up (always good) and not take any medicine which I have had to do for the last few days, which has sucked. It's been about 2.5 weeks since my last update in here and I have made some progress. The main focus is I did complete my Charger Case build and now have my iCharger S6 up and running with two paraboards. I have also went through all of my 4s packs and verified they are all in storage charge and good to go, and they are, and I have went through most of my smaller 2s and 3s packs and done the same, including the 6 batteries I have for the Align 150x, which you can see HERE.

I also found my old 3GX (one of many that I had owned) and had a little fun with that in This Thread, and then was reminded of the Maxx flybarless gyro in that thread. This pretty much set a goal progression that I'm now working towards. The first and most obvious was to get the site back going, and you can read more about that a few posts back where I got it going on a new server that is not self hosted my me because I'm horrible at it lol. The second was the charger case. It's done enough to where I can use it, It might be about 9 different colors, but it will work.

Going forward my first goal is to get the Arrow 3 in the air. This is one of a few models that I have never flown. Thanks to D.O.G. I have a very small micro receiver in it that seems to be doing the job quite well and should have enough range for what I wand to do with it. The second goal after getting the Arrow 3 in the air is getting the Align 150x in the air to get my heli fingers back. I have a feeling this will take a little more time than I am thinking, so I'm going to do it with a helicopter that can take a pretty good crash and keep going. It's twitchy as all get out, but that might just work in my favor.

Both of those models are under 250g, meaning the FAA can kick rocks. But... the Goblin 380 is not and it will require registration. Now, there are two parts to this. The first is doing a regular registration, they give you a number and you have to put that number on all of your models over 250g. That part, that's fine. The ID Tags they want on the model is absolutely not going to happen and is a complete invasion of privacy since it broadcasts my exact location. Not going to happen. And in reading that all new models are supposed to have this already built in, guess I will stick with what I have lol. But will the police come out because I'm flying a helicopter in my yard? 99.9% chance they could care less that I'm flying. They are busy enough with people that are breaking the law that affects others and some old man flying a model in his own yard is the very least of their worries.

So yes, the Goblin will then be going into the air with the Maxx gyro which was my last video which was shot back in 2021 (wow, doesn't seem that long ago since I shot that video....). After the Goblin comes the Agusta A109. The electronics are in it, they just need to be hooked up. The gyro I'm going to use is the Ikon 2 that was on the Goblin, so we know it will be rock solid. The servos are some of the best out there as is the motor and ESC. I will also be using a 5000mah 6s Pulse pack. This is my finale to get back into the hobby again and get to flying again. If I can fly a 3.5" quad, a micro helicopter, a 380 size helicopter and a 600 size scale helicopter and not have the cops called on me, or visited by them, then maybe we will start venturing into some more models that I have yet to fly.... Like the "FMS 1100MM MXS 3D Plane" that I have never flown. I actually have two of these.. I fear the Decathlon (68") and the F4U (60" I think) will never see the air again unless I go back to CORCS.

Fun fact about CORCS. They are a registered place to fly with the FAA where the ID tags are not required. So if I pay more money, I can not have that worry of flying without an ID tag.... Not gonna lie, I have thought about getting my membership back over there because I do miss flying my planes.

Now that I have a plan, I just need to get over whatever this is that I have that is making me feel and sound absolutely horrible and get back to working on the Arrow 3. Gotta love those curveballs....

Sounds like you have a game plan going on Tony. The hardest part is the execution. I'm trying to get out to the park to fly my helis but life gets in the way sometime. I'm working around those situation to get some airtime in. As for ID tags, screw that. Now for registration of rc vehicles over 250g, I did so just to have some sort of paper work in case a Karen decides to start shit. I can't wait to fly my helis again. It's been tooooo long and I miss the excitment and adrenaline high.

The more I read, the more I kind of fall into a gray area. If you are flying for personal enjoyment, then fine, one fee, one registration number and it can go on all of your aircraft. However, it it is commercial then you need to be under part 107 and you have to register each model separately. Pretty sure no matter what I fly or if I record it, I will still fall under "Recreational Use" but that line is quite blurry when it comes to monetized videos...
