What should I do?

I recently bought carbon fiber rods and ball bearings, hoping they would fit into each other. The rods seem to be a tiny bit too big to fit in the bearings, so I need some suggestions. Should I try to sand the rods thinner, or just get new bearings?

Thanks!

What are you using the rods for? Are they going to be used for high speed shafts, like a torque tube for a helicopter? If so, I think I would try to find bearings that fit the rods. If you sand them too much on one side, the bearing is going to be offset on the rod, and you`ll get vibrations. If you decide to sand them, make sure you use a good dust mask to keep from breathing the CF dust.

Also to sand them evenly you can Chuck them in a drill. Power the drill and hold the sand paper to the rod. You will need to support the other end also.
