Today friend and fellow co-worker, Russ got his fist plane. Really nice Firebird Stratos trainer and he wanted to fly after work. Well the weather was perfect at quitting time and we hauled butt to our air field. I took to the air first and had some trim problems but our friend Darin, who has lots of flight experience help me trim out and the Cub was beautiful. Then Russ was up, The firebird took to the air....Darin "climb higher" Russ " I am" Darin "HIGHER" Russ "I'M trying" Darin "You got to turn !" Russ " oh crap" and wham! tree meet new plane! Well the bird is ok a little wrinkled but she got 2 more flights and only suffered loose nose wheel. Then I was up again and landed perfectly at my feet with a smooth flare and all. Should of quit there but wanted to do another landing. I lined up, was looking and got excited flared at about 4' off the ground and well the picture tells the rest. All in all was a fun night!
