  • I am trying to use rc transmitter and receiver to remotely adjust the vent on my bbq smoker as I monitor the temperature from afar.

I have the AX-7s system tx/rec pistol grip. I have the SPT servo model SPT5435LV-180. 6v power converter arrives today.

I need to adjust the vent/servo frequently to open or close the vent on the smoker (2” travel) and have the vent/servo stay as adjusted! I’m using a lawnmower throttle cable from vent to servo!

How can I modify the transmitter so that the right/left knob can directly control the position of the servo, thus the vent

Yeah, just post back there... after all you are still trying to do the same thing that you started that other thread for... So you just post back into the original post/thread so everyone has all the info that has already been discussed and it keeps from having duplicate suggestions etc that way. Of course, if you have additional info too add, it'd be a good idea to include that in your post.

Don't sweat it man! All these forums are different.

Do they make a remote servo tester? You can just turn the knob and the servo will move... That would be this chit, I think... Either that or a cheap plane radio and use the throttle... You could use the trim to get a really fine adjustment.

Thanks for your response! Yes they do make a servo tester. I’ve decided to forget the rc transmitter and receiver idea and go with a direct wired servo tester that I can operate from my sunroom! Ordered the following!

LOL!!! I have one of those I use to actually check the throw of servo/control surfaces, etc. Might want to use a Y connector to hook a charger to the battery so it could charge at the same time? If that will work?.... I don't think just a charger would run it?

Someone fix me if I am broken (wrong)!

You are correct sir! Chargers put out a trickle charge only! I have “converter” that puts out 6 volts constant!
