Dual Rates w/individual Endpoint Adjustments
As most plane builders and flyers know, few, if any, flight control setups are perfectly symetrical. You need seperate endpoint adjustments for Up and Down, Left and Right, travel. If you use dual rates, each of those dual rates requires its' own endpoint adjustments for each flight control.
The JR 9X had this built into the menus. The Open TX radios do not. There is only 1 set of endpoint adjustments in "Outputs" for each channel.
On the TX16S, after multiple configurations, I finally figured out a setup that works!!
1st build and setup your plane as square as you possibly can with servo arms; linkages, and control horn attach points on the hinge line. Each attachment at 90 degrees to the other. A computer radio is no substitute for proper build technique.
In "Outputs" adjust the subtrim of each control to get 90 degrees on the servo-linkage connection.
In "Inputs" each flight contol line (Ail left and right, Ele, and Rud) has lines added for each Dual Rate, with the assigned switch. Each of those added lines has a "Weight" of 100%, and the "Expo" is setup.
In "Mixes" those same lines are added (+) to each flight control channel, but here the "Weight" is set for the desired Up travel. The Down travel is adjusted with "Dif".
If the desired travel can not be reached on the 3D (Highest) rate, in "Outputs" increase travel from the standard settings (+/- 512) for that channel.
