My wife is going to kill me. As you know, I purchased two trucks used, and they needed some parts, so I went to the LHS. While I was there, they had the RealFlight 6 sim setup on a computer, and I just had to have some fun with it. As I was looking through the models, I noticed they had my Edge 540T in there, and the characteristics of the plane are almost identical! However, there are some "crashes" that show nothing broke, but in reality, it would have broke.
The controller that comes with it is pretty slick. It's an 8 channel controller and you have two idle up settings (tri position switch). The flaps are on a rotary knob and I hate that, but when you want to fly the ospray or the Harrier, you have to have the knob to adjust the thrust or pitch of the engines. You can also either hit the reset button, or hold it to rewind your playback and try again for those perfect landings. There is also buttons on there so you don't have to use your mouse to select another model, flying site or other features. It also had adjustable sticks so you can set the height to where you want it. You can also assign the switches where ever you want to.
It does come with a cable to hook your JR, Spektrum, and other Tx to the sim. It's going to require a lot of setting up, including a channel just for realflight, to get it to work correctly. I will be doing this in the upcoming days.
I did purchase the one with the Helicopter mega pack and not the airplane, because lets face it, I'm a heli guy at heart lol. The bad thing is there is only one Align heli in the Mega Pack, and that is the 500. Yes, the old one. And it is a handfull to fly, but it very realistic.
I will be adding more and more to this as I go along and learn all of the different features. But all in all, WOW is it worth the money so far. It's far more realistic than Clearview, has better graphics than Phoenix and I think is the best sim out there if you have the money.
Stay tuned for more.
