As there are an increasing Chinese made products coming on the market, the screws used in assembling these devices are likely to be what was known as JIS or Japanese Industrial Standard.
Whilst this standard no longer officially applies to the screws and screwdrivers used, it still exists.
Phillips crosspoint screwdrivers are incompatible with JIS cross head screws.
If you have stripped out screws or damaged the Phillips pattern screwdrivers, this is the reason.
A JIS screw can be identified by a small dimple on the head of the screw in one of the corners of the cross.
