Misc. Setting "Aircraft Type" on Spektrum Radio

Does anyone know the difference between "Normal" and "1 Ail, 1 Flap" wing settings in the Aircraft Type menu under System Setup?
I understand 1 Ail, 1 Flap, but have not been able to find out what "Normal" actually means.

And when would you use the one versus the other?

Normal will be an aircraft without a flap... most RC airplanes are 4 channel and you'd need a 5th channel to support flaps. In fact, sometimes the ailerons will actually take up two channels so they can add differential between them or just adjust the travel for each wing so they are balanced better.

And you can use the "flaperon" program with two separate channels for the alerions.

Been thinking of trying both, flaps and flaperons for a super STOL. :warning:
