450 Some questions about the Aling Trex-450 Plus DFC Combo RTF

Hi,

Just get me my Heli Trex-450 Plus and so far everything seems unbelievable to me that is the DFC or Flybarless system.

It's my first Heli with this type of technology, I wonder if there are any recommendations on this model to be taken into consideration before the first flight.

Or if you need some kind of upgrade to improve the performance of the heli.

I would invest in a flight sim. I new also and the sim. is a wonderful thing.

Yes, a flight sim is the first thing that i would get. Clearview, Phoenix, RealFlight, are the best ones out there, adn that is listed from cheapest to most expensive. The second thing, is TRAINING GEAR! If this is your first CCPM helicopter (collective pitch), you will want training gear for sure.

Make sure to click on the Articles button above and go into the 3GX section and watch all of those videos. That will help you tame this beast down quite a bit. But, setup is key on these helicopters. The more time you take to set it up correctly, the better it will fly.

Yeah...the sim and training gear....definitely!!! I am on the Phoenix sim pretty often and I did have training gear on my Trex 500 for months before I finally felt comfortable enough to take the gear off. I really really believe that the sim and the training gear helped me greatly.

As the guys have said above training gear is a must, the plus DFC package should have come set up well out of the box, but that being said they are never perfect, make sure you give it a good going over before you use it as something could have escaped Align QA checks, the idea is a perfectly set up out of the box heli, but that depends on the person who set it up in he first place.

and as both have said before a sim is a great investment, having read your post in the beginners area, you are progressing from contra rotating heli's so be aware that the Align is a much more powerful and tricky bird to fly,

Hope you have a great experience with this bird as the model is a great compromise of design and affordability and should fly great for you.

This is a great Heli kit , but is sure a handful if u don't tone down the settings , I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and it's flying great , but out of the box for a beginner new to CP Helis u will find it extremely hard to get it up and hover it with the factory settings , and like the guys are saying , tranning gear is a MUST! Perserverance , determination and practice , practice , practice is what has helped me progress , and of course RC-Help , I couldn't have done it without them!

If u check the thred on here DFC very sensitive and read through it u will see the problems I was having and how I resolved them and can now hover this heli great including nose in and gentle circuits , even done some baby autos today lol , I've been flying for only 2 months and I'm an ADICT big time lol

Thank you all, and I started to read and know the current status of MR 3GX to verify that settings have and also factory validate parameters.

Definitely go over all screws, you won't find many (if any) that have any thread lock. I have one that I enjoy flying, but it is touchy with the factory settings.
