Charger in Lid, or in Base?

If you don't remember this is mine. One of my boards doesn't have pass through and I couldn't find one with it. So I used binding posts with copper bus bars. I also used a Y adapter to connect both boards. 2025-08-2623.53.132378267081579044838.jpg
 
My BuddyRC board has passthrough and yes, it is very nice! I think I'm going to integrate two holders, one for the BuddyRC, then chain the XT60/30 to it. Will be able to charge everything I have if so. EC plugs and some of the others I will have to wire direct or create a adapter.
 
Alright, I think this one is close enough to start the printing. I'm a little worried about wire length on the bottom parallel board to the charger, and I know I will have to make a new wire for the top board as that is a little longer than what it comes with. But all in all, it should work fine for now.

The fun part is I'm just going to use all of my old filament that I have laying around to print this so it's likely going to be multiple colors for the testing lol.

Exactly the same? Or slightly different?

Made some relief holes for the top parallel board... It's a weird shape where the wires go into it.

All right, I have everything imported into the slicer and it is going to take 5 plates to print this, and it's only a total of 19 hours 13 minutes and will use almost 900grams of filament. This is WAAAAAAAYYYYYY faster than the ender wanted to just do ONE section that was not as complicated.... It's time to start printing the pieces and see how it comes out! And yes, I will be using interface material to try to get better release of the supports, as there is a lot of supports in this print.
 
Test print #1 I would call a success, mostly. I'm using old filament so the finish is not that great, and there was some parts that pulled up from the bed, but that will get sorted out when I do the final print. The ST90 plug is very tight, so tight in fact that it doesn't need screws lol. The charger is a little under flush, but after some double sided tape, that will fit perfectly and the balance board is spot on, I just forgot the holes on the other side for the passthrough bullet connectors for the second paraboard. The hole for controlling the charger is also a bit too small for my sausage fingers lol. But it does work, It's just a tight fit. So all in all, great first test print

Oh, and the first large test of the interface material for PLA from Bambu worked great. The parts on the right and left did feel like they were sticking, but I don't think I let it cool enough before trying to pull them apart. The large face didn't stick at all! Weeding was WAY easier with this stuff. Now I want to try PETG!

You know, it's pretty fun to print with partial spools. I have the AMS on my printer and it can hold 4 rolls and has auto refill if one spool runs out. I just take the RFID tags out of the spools and set them all to the same color and when one partial roll runs out, it will automatically switch over to the next spool in line. So far this print that I'm printing is black, green, purple, green (I stopped it early, I wanted to use the purple because it was super old), and now it's printing red. I have blue lined up, but that is for the next print lol. Don't worry about what looks like defects on the right, the holes turned out a little large for the pins and it created a side hole. No worry though, this is a test piece and it will be on the under side anyway (if I use it, which I just might lol).
