ESC ESC reset itself

Went to fly my trex 450 pro this evening and when the esc initialized it only beeped once all the way down. Its a rce-bl35p esc what would cause this? I did have the 3gx connected to the laptop would that effect the esc?
 
Walt you should only connect the 3gx to the laptop with power on the 3gx unit,

Don't think it should cause a esc issue though,
 
Yes it should be in a running config before connecting to the laptop, that's how I understand it anyway
