Projects Hey guys its been a long time---how about an F22 out of foamboard

A buddy of mine called me one day to go out flying on our day off. I didn't hesitate, ofcourse, but I only have one problem, my top wing plane is out of comision due to a bent shaft. Hmmm I guess this is a good time to do my maiden flight of the plans I got from rcfoamfighters. Plane went together fairly easy, even added a bomb bay door for parajumper or plastic bb's.
Wow, what a dream to fly!!! This is the sweetest flying plane I have ever flown. First toss found plane was a tad nose heavy, brought her around, landed, made some adjustments and off she went again. I even downloaded an app for my phone called RCspeedo. I even tried this app using you tube on plane that flew close infront of the camera when passing by. Some guys were using radar guns, rcspeedo app was within 1-2mph acurate! I used this app on my F22 only to find its fastest run at 88.9mph!
I do have some videos but haven't had time to post it, my bad!! But I do have some pics in flight- still images.

Yes, as I stated, I do have video but haven't had time to edit and upload to youtube. I had the video running when I was doing the speed passes too. This sucker moves out pretty good, I must say!LOL

The FF-22 is a GREAT design! IMO, it's the best design out there and is one reason I have not made one yet. I have a feeling if I make a set of plans, I may inadvertently copy some of the designs of this plane because it's what worked best for me.

Hurry up and get that video done and upload it. Love watching this plane fly. I have videos on the youtube channel of this plane flying with dual EDF's. Was great until I burnt up the ESC's lmao.

Hey Tony,
I did see your video of the f22 with ducted fans on youtube. I had thought about putting my 70mm ducted fan on this one but wanted to see how it flew first. On my pusher I mounted my esc in the intake on the right side just to get plenty of air to cool it- so far no problems. I've also added a scoop above the motor to get some much needed cooling running it at higher rmp's, seems to have helped also.
Who knows maybe I'll build another one designed for a 70mm ducted and with a fuse to hold my 4s lipos!!

Nice, looks like that will fly quite fast if you put a big enough motor on it.

Thanks mountiandewdude. The photos were just captured from the video which doesn't have that great of resolution but it does the job. I need to get my Galaxy Note set up for hat cam since a gopro is out of budget, maybe someday LOL. My wife had the upgrade on her phone contract and she wanted my iphone4 which I used before for making videos, so with very little hesitation I got the Galaxy.
