Hey all, I finally got my hobbywing 50aV3 installed in my Gaui X3. I'm getting 5 mins. flight time and the battery is at 14% when done flying. The thing is that my motor seems hot when I'm done flying. I have 6s 1800Kv motor with 11T pinion on it and I'm not sure if my settings are right on the ESC and maybe that's why the motor could be running hot. My setting for the ESC goes like this:
1) Brake/off
2) Battery type/Lipo
3) Cutoff mode/soft
4) Low voltage threshold/Middle
5) Flight mode/Heli Gov. off "Default setting is (ELF)" What Is ELF?
6) Auto rotation restart 10s
7) Timing degree/8 degree
8) PWM frequency/8 KHz
9) BEC output/5.2
10) Lipo cells/Auto calculate
Everything is default except for the following: Flight mode/ Default is Gov. ELF
Timing/ Defaut is 15 degree, I have 5 but rounded up to 8
PWM/ Default is 32 KHz, I have 8 KHz
The timing and PWM I got that information off the motor detail chart. I've heard that some motors run Hot like the Scorpion motors "Which is the next motor I'm going to get soon" How hot should the motor be when done flying. I've heard that you should be able to put your finger on the motor for about 10s, I'm lucky to put my finger on the motor for about 5s. Is this all OK or do i need to worry. The ESC and Battery get warm but the motor is a different story. I also heard that the Hobbywing 50a V3 only works with certain motors. Is this true? The gaui fly's great but just concern about the motor. Any information is helpful and I appreciate it.
