Flight Stabilizers Spektrum Flight modes NX 8 Transmitter and SPMAR637TA Receiver

I have set up and assigned switch "C" for 3 different flight modes, on the Spektrum NX 8 transmitter, and they all show correctly as I move the switch up and down. I have ailerons, elevator and rudder all programed in along with voice commands, following instructions precisely. Now for some reason the control surfaces on the plane are not responding to those commands. How do I get the SPMAR637TA to acknowledge the commands?
I have done the same procedure on other planes and no problem, at least after some struggling.

If you have the Rx channel assigned (ie Aux 4), and the Tx switch assigned. Seems like It should work.
