Replacing the ESC will tell you if it is or not. One thing you can do is power up the motor and see if the output voltage from the ESC to the RX drops. If so, then there is your issue. But you would usually get a flashing light on the Rx if that is happening. I would try another ESC if it was me. Or just unplug the red wire and use another BEC to test.

I don't have another ESC, but I do have a brand new Castle BEC 10a I reckon I could use.....
I'm not real sure about how to wire the BEC in there though, I know the red wire is to be pulled from the ESC lead going into the reciever but not sure how the rest goes.....will have to look into it.

All you have to do is plug it into any open port. The positive and negative of most Rx's out there are all connected on the board.
