General Taking off and landing?

I think Steve posted earlier about how a certain circuit within the ESC could go out and servo's still work or something like that....but yeah bad ESC

Those are called Field Effect Transistors, or FET for short. There is an array of them that switch on and off to make the motor spin. And as you have seen, sometimes they just burn out. That one is shorted and if you can find a replacement, you can repair that ESC.

Where would I find the model / size of the FET. I can't find any markings on it. Next step , who sells these things? A local electronics shop? I wouldn't think they are very popular?

I'm not sure where you would get them. There are some older motherboards that have some on them that you can use, but you have to have an older motherboard to get them and not everyone has those lol.

That one is going to be too big. That is rated for 100 volts. He is going to need one that is rated for 25 to 30 volts. Just make sure to get enough amperage.

Not sure about these FETs maybe too small they seem to be for small E-Flite boards but they may be able to access larger ones for you.
