So the tmaxx i built a few years ago has like maybe 10hours on it and then it wouldn't move anymore. Took trans apart it checks out fine. Open the diffs and the ring gears are missing teeth and or are grounded down.... what could iv done wrong when I rebuilt this truck? Bearings are smooth and I dont see anything that could do this. Thanks
Tony I love your videos

Kyle, apologies for the delay! Just getting back into the swing of things (or trying lol).

In looking at those gears, it doesn't appear that it was a lack of lube. With your truck being a 2.5, which is basically a .15 frame and parts with a larger engine stuck on it, I think it was just wear and tear. IMO, other than breakage from crashing, the clutch, clutch bell, spur gear and diff's are the most torn up parts on these trucks. Think about this, you are taking a 2.5 engine and putting it through a transmission with a gear reduction for first, and then sending that to the diff's with themselves are also a gear reduction. The amount of torque on that "ring gear" is quite substantial. And with those gears being sintered metal, they are not the strongest things out there. IMO, you did nothing wrong, this is just a part of owning a T-Maxx lol.

What gets me is this is a brand new build and I have another tmax with the same trans and diff and I beat that truck to death and zero issues. The one thay broke is all new.

The only thing that comes to mind is check your gear mesh in the diff. You can use shims to space the input gear and ring gear so they mesh perfectly. If you have another truck that you are harder on, and it has not broke, My mind is going to mesh being either too tight, or too loose.

Something else that I just thought of to help save parts is try backing off your slipper clutch a bit. This will keep it from hammering the diff. Ideal slip is about 1 second then lock in.
