hey guys are ferrite rings necessary with 2.4ghz systems, i dont have one on mine, and tbh does not seem to matter.

Align small ESC come with those installed. My Big Castle 160A doesnt have it. i dont think you NEED it. So if you dont have it I wouldnt tell you to stop :D

thanks Gaba,

just seems a bit strange that theres no definitive answer on this one, 35mhz radios were really susecptable to this interferance, 2.4ghz is way away from this frequency range

and i would have though, logically that is for it to be able to affect both 35mhz and 2.4ghz frequencies it would be a huge range of interferance (noise, emi) whatever people want to call it, being given out by a esc.

yeah and the newer DSMX systems actually do frequency hopping. So if the motor is resonating with one frequency band, dsmx rx's will switch over to another frequency mid flight like a soft handover in a cell phone .. so if using DSMX you really shouldnt be affected at all .. :)

If its there it's good it won't hurt
If there isn't you don't have to worry about it

Like I said, my bigger esc's wires don't have it and i fly it fine :)

Fly safe!! :) have fun!

Looking good. And as stated, you dont' really need the ferrite ring. It helps keep the noise out of the Rx from the ESC which can cause interference but you wont' have that issue with a good TX. Keep it or lose it, it's your choice. I personally hate them as they always get in the way.

My scorpion did not come with one either. Even with the low end stuff I have I don't have any issues with my rx.

So here is a close which i believe is an new design i dont remember what my tail slider was like even though i took it apart a couple times. but wow how smooth it is when you have the screws just right.
