Sorry I have been MIA everyone. Been killing it at work and just flat don't want to type after doing it all day long at work. I will try to get back into the swing of things. Times are tough right now, but we are trying to make the best of it.
So, since I have been on here, things in the world have changed. I'm sure you all know about all of that. If you don't, you are living under a rock. We are good at my house. We are getting ready to do a full maintenance on my tractor and get the garden tilled in and ready for this season. We will be planting more than usual this year considering the world right now. We feel that we need to be as self sustainable as we can be.
Speaking of that, we are adding another dozen hens to the coop and we will be processing the older hens and the excess roosters we have and putting them in the freezer for a later time. At this time, we have 6 roosters and we only need one. So that is 5 good size birds right there. We have I think 6 old hens that are no longer laying that well so that gives us a dozen chickens that we can process and freeze. Before anyone asks, yes, you can eat the laying hens and roosters, the meat is just a little tougher, which makes them perfect for slow smoking and soups and stews. Since they are more active than a regular meat chicken that you buy at your grocery store, the meat is a little darker all over rather than being white meat. More Flavor!
Other than working and trying to get supplies in case they do quarantine everyone, things are pretty normal around here. No flying thanks to the FAA which has me not doing videos anymore. Last thing I need is video proof of committing a felony lol. At least at last check it was a felony. Might have changed that. Don't keep up with that crap anymore.
Thank you all for posting on here and thanks to everyone who has been helping in answering questions on here in my absence. It really does mean a lot to me.
