What Did You Do Today???

Lake Erie is a bigger lake but its the shallowest of the great lakes. Its makes it more dangerous. On the flip it makes it difficult to support such weather anomalies.

Actually, if it's shallower, it can heat up much faster thus allowing more upward motion and moisture to reach the sky which could intensify storms more than other lakes. Not sure though, I have not studied the great lakes enough to know the weather patterns.

Hey guys, my nephew took these pictures from my brothers boat in Kaneohe Bay. I'm a mile or so from the ocean here in Haiku Valley so I always miss the water spouts when they appear. A few years ago a water spout came off the water and ripped the roof off a house just five miles from here. Very rare event for sure but not impossible.

I don't know the how's and whys. I know that its the shallowest of the lakes and its the most dangerous during sever weather.

Winter sucks when its not frozen. The location where we met is part of the snow belt. Once the air makes land fall it just dumps on us. The heart of it is in Chardon. Just south of the meet up spot in mentor.

Lake effect. I have seen it on radar, but never been there when it was happening. Lake effect snow looks awesome to say the least.

Damn I need to go to bed...

Its not much to look at unless your driving. You don't notice it until you leave the snow belt during the snow fall. Eastlake where i live is just outside the snow belt. We are right on the lake. Mentor Chardon painesville Madison Geneva middle field, those guys can get hit. Mentor not as bad but they get their share of snowfall.

There has been times in the early winter when I have seen card heading out of Chardon with 3 inches of snow on their cars and mine is clean and never been touched.

Its about that distance from the lake. Once it freezes though the lake effect stops.

I was a little surprised after last nights rain ( not to mention all of it that came before ), that the grass dried enough to mow. The ground is still pretty soft, but we had enough wind to dry things out.

For supper... I did a reheat on the BBQ spare ribs that I cooked the other night. These were a last minute grab at the grocery store and were pre-seasoned with a rub so I didn't have to do that myself and wait on them to marinate. I was pleasantly surprised that they were nice and spicy as well as smoked, something you don't see often just off the shelf. I sauced them with some Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ to top them off and had a side of potato salad.

Yep had bad day yesterday and to close it out with 3 caught; my daughter caught 1 and I got 2, and a tasty dinner made it worth it.

We had storms all day on and off. Made camping very miserable. Not to mention the temps had dropped off by 15 degrees from Saturday.

All in all not to bad of a Time. I got the bass on a Texas jig with a green rubber crawfish.

Finally got paid for my Georgia trip. Bout freaking time.

So today I spent some cash on myself. I got the S&W M&P 2.0 40 compact and the M&P 2.0 Shield 9mm.

Finally got the 2 guns I want. The 9mm is being lent to the misses for her conceal carry. I will have the 40 as my conceal carry.
