I meant to tease a bit, but it took me much longer than anticipated to mount the rubber grommets to the new canopy LOL
But here it is, my custom Canomod canopy

Regarding the JR stripping gears; I have been researching a bit, and it would seem my GOV gain is way to high. At first I thought I would increase the gain until I got oscillation, then step it back. But as Lee pointed out previously, the bird does not sound quite right - and I believe this is caused by too high gain. I see that many 700E's operate around 17 as GOV gain value - I have mine at 29 ATM. I'll step it down to 20 tomorrow, then do another test flight.

I just came in from 3 short test flights with 3 different settings for the GOV gain. I tried 18-20-16 in that order - and, OH BOY did the JR sound different. All the flights up til now, the bird was flying on the wrong gain settings.
The lower I went, the smoother the sound. On 16 I noticed the tail started to fall behind. So I think I will land on 17, 18 or 19. I'll need more test flights, and a good analysis of the Castle log first.
Hopefully I will get everything ready for tomorrow so I can make a video.

Oh Tony, you do have a 600N sitting somewhere remember? I'm not pressuring or anything - but it would be fun to see that baby in the air Don't rush it Sam, take your good time - that way you can be sure everything is right before FBL maiden
Thanks Lee. Yes I've been using GOV all the way. I did have it in FE only once, and that's when I calibrated the endpoints

Pfft, yeah right, The heli is sitting right here behind me on top of my vinyl plotter. As I"m typing this on one screen, my other screen has a video rendering of said helicopter. However, I'm still a LONG way from putting this thing in the air. Hence wanting to get a 450 that I can just toss together and stick in the air. Not like this thing that takes more crap to get running than my car lmao. It will get there though.

Thank you. The JR spare parts are not cheap
So I try my best not to risk anything.I have little experience with the 3GX GOV, I just tested it on my 450 a couple of flights - didn't like it. The Castle ESC built in GOV is another league. But I think I'm beginning to get it dialed in

Was out flying the JR today. Motor sounds beautiful, bird flies beautiful - but I got some weird noise after 3 minutes, so I took her down. I'll have to find what's wrong before new flights.
I did bring the new cam, fully charged - forgot the memory card LOL I suck...
