Thanks Randy for sharing. I enjoy your pics but better yet, :warning: the wife enjoys your pics alot more! :biggrin-new:.

Thank you sir ... and madam :)

I certainly do enjoy taking pics. The Orion Nebula is one I like for many reasons... It's one of the few nebula's that are bright enough to take a shot of relatively easy and it looks good. The other side is that this is a good challenge to get detail to show using just a DSLR camera, telephoto lens and tripod.... no telescope.

Howdy Kyle...

I'm not certain but I think the all-in-one camera's are prone to being slow to shoot... at least that is what they used to get complaints about that I've seen. I know the two Olympus AIO's I had did the same thing and there weren't any settings you could change that would help. I haven't played with any since I got my DSLR a couple of years, so I don't know about any of the newer ones out there.

I've tried a few ( 3 maybe 4 including my own ) DSLR's and they don't have the issue... but then again, just the body for one is often more than the whole AIO type of camera also.

I did think of a couple of things that may help with those point & shoots... not a lot but just a little.

Turn off the flash when it's not needed... that's not a lot but it is one less thing their slow processors will then have to worry about. Another, when possible pre-focus before you take the shot. To pre-focus on your subject, half press the button, then push the rest of the way when you've got things composed the way you want. That won't help with action scenes, but in others it can a bit. Finally, find out what the fastest memory card your camera can use and get one. That last one only help when the camera is writing the photo taken and should help it get ready for the next a bit faster.

I Just wanted to let y'all know I'll be opening a session on RealFlight 7.5.
There is no password. Just look for the session named "RCH FLY IN" . Max player count is set at 10.

Just an FYI, there is a thread on this in the Paid Sim section. If we can get more people hosing sims and keep the threads alive we can get much more activity on each session. If I had 7.5 I would be there, but don't have that one.

If nothing else... the update to the forum has at least a couple of nice features... you can drag and drop a picture and then select for a thumbnail or full image.

If we can get more people hosing sims

Using Tony's typo as an example for a reply/quote.... you can highlight a portion of a post and get a reply option to quote just the portion highlighted.

I Just wanted to let y'all know I'll be opening a session on RealFlight 7.5.

You can sort of multi-quote using the same method of highlighting... it appears its only one at a time ( I didn't try clicking on several reply buttons at the same time ).

Randy, I know you keep an eye on this thread. If you can post in here, then post a reply.

So now I know you can reply (didn't see the post above lol. holy crap there is a lot of work to be done. I will look into enabling the multi-quote. It's a great feature.

Multi-Quote is enabled now. Just select the +Quote button at the bottom right of each message you want to quote. Then, below the reply box, there will be a button to insert all quotes. And then a box will pop up so that you can adjust the order (just click and drag).

I actually start with the New Post's thread.... so I do see all of the new posts... I just only reply on airplane, battery or radio topics ... and rarely on others that I don't have an interest or experience with ( ie heli or multirotor etc ). In addition, since most of my experience is now pretty dated, sometimes I'll just read a post in an area I'm interested in but don't reply since my info may not apply as much ( or are more uncertain of now )

And I see the Like/Unlike button returns.... love that option also so I can acknowledge a post without having to add another reply

It's all good, I just need you to be another set of eyes to me. I'm trying to get a header put in for all of these posts. Right now they blend together without a header and time. This is a new version that I have not worked on before (didn't even know we were going to this version quite honestly, hell I didn't know we were going to update this soon!!! But we did, and here we are. Now, I just have to do some damage control which is going to take me all day to do...

That is correct. I meant to put it on the old forum, but never got around to it. There was something wrong with it the last time which was causing a LOT of issues. But that one was a hack on the software, this one is native. So yes, use away! lol

There is only one pet peeve that I find so far... and it's not bad, just something I don't care for on any forum that I visit... dead whitespace.

It seems many of the new updated forums are adding in an area on the front page that in itself is good... ie the user info, who's online, new posts, ads etc.... but afterword as you scroll past the info ... just dead air with no content. The upside of the added info more than outweighs my own opinion of the dead space... but I just hate to see good space go to waste... lmao

I'll keep an eye on things and mention them ( even if they are subjective ) as I notice them.... got to get to FB and get caught up there ( or get really behind ). If you want me to check something out specific... send a PM and that should send me an email ( or I'll be back by after catching up on a few other forums etc )

Are you talking about the dead space that is below the sidebar ad? The only reason that is dead space is because 1. I can't add that many ads and 2. I have nothing to put there lol. I do see that the facebook deal is gone so I'm going to have to put that up. So that will fill a little of it. I also notice that the ad I had for banggood is gone. That might just stay gone even though it was helping to get some money for parts and such. Not a lot, but a little.

As for facebook, I have yet to make this public (I guess I am now lol), but my buddy Jacob has taken over the social networking side of things for the site. Right now he is working on facebook, twitter and the new one, tumblr... I have no idea what tumblr is but he wanted me to make an account, so I did.

But yes, post up any issues. It would help me out a lot.

Ignore the pet peeve... that's all it is... and fill the space you can as you see fit.... As far as I'm concerned using ad's such as banggood etc that help the site is just fine
