Hey Jared. Is it DSMX or DSM2. DSM2 is bind 5 and DSMX is bind 9. You probably know that already.

I have been reading up on it and it may be that the firmware will not let it bind that way. Something to do with F3 controllers not having enough memory.

So I got it setup again. I have the Rx tab setup and the modes tab is working correctly. I set the PID tab as I took a photo of the settings before flashing the first time. When I arm the quad the motors spin and all of a sudden it flips backward quickly. What could be wrong?

I did the thing in the motors tab and now when I arm the quad the motors don't go out of control. However when I give it throttle, then the RPMs slowly climb by themselves. I can disarm and they go back to normal but upon applying throttle, they go back to what they were doing slowly gaining RPM.

@Tony Can you check how your LED is setup? I can't figure out how to get it back to what it was set on. I remember seeing 4 squares on the grid but don't know how to get back to that configuration.Maybe a screenshot of it?

Thanks.

What in the world have you done to this quad? I have had NONE of these issues, but I also flew it as it came which was perfect. Didn't have any reason to update since it flew just fine.

It will be a while before I am back in the office. I'm stepping away from the hobby completely for quite a while possibly indefinitely. It's time for me to focus on more important things in my life right now.

That's understandable Tony. That's what we all should do. There are many more things much more important that our hobbies.

I wish you well!

I found out that the FC is not installed in the 'correct' orientation. There are arrows on them to indicate which way they 'should' face. This one is 180 degrees out on yaw. I had to go into betaflight and correct this. You also have to check motor assignment. If motor 1 does not spin when you raise the slider then you have to remap it in CLI and so on. I was able to hover the quad this morning.

I'm confuse. If Tony mention that, "What in the world have you done to this quad? I have had NONE of these issues, but I also flew it as it came which was perfect. Didn't have any reason to update since it flew just fine." So if you stated that," I found out that the FC is not installed in the 'correct' orientation. There are arrows on them to indicate which way they 'should' face. This one is 180 degrees out on yaw. I had to go into betaflight and correct this." How can this be then. This quad shouldn't of flown the first time Tony flew it. Makes no sense but as long as you got it going again...that's what counts.

It has to do with the firmware it originally had. It was setup that way from the factory and when I flashed it I erased what they had programmed into it. So I really mucked it up.

You can install a FC any way you want as long as you set it up in betaflight. I know tony will cringe at this vid but here:

Yes, the FC is installed backwards because of the USB port, if I remember correctly. Mine is completely stock and works perfectly. I pretty much do the KISS method on these things. Why over complicate things if it's working...

That's how I learn. I let you guys do all the work and I take the easy way out. Learning what to do and not to do, since you guys did all the tinkering for me Lol. Like cliff notes :)
