Hi Guys, im sen, just newbie in quads. I was able to get here through myrcmart.com. :)

Btw, i would like to ask for your thought if w/c is better in terms of range: walkera 7 or 7e?

For the FVP gear, I opted to buy from hobbyking. I complete package for vTx, vRx, Polarized Antenna and DIY Goggles. And that's around $99.99 (shipping not included).

I have been making some modifications to this set up.
Here I have added some nylon dampers between the arms and the frames.

I swapped out the frame screws for longer ones.
The stock ones are very short and strip out easily.
These new ones give the frame extra strength and make it stiffer.

Signal wires are dropped into a channel I cut in the nylon spacers.

CC3D board mounted on vibration dampers.

Made a dust cover to protect the electronics from sand on the beach.

With the new firmware from Open Pilot, the default H250 settings are almost spot on.
Here is the first test flight with the defaults.

Got to love dyi. As you know I made my spacers too however I recently opted to have a local 3d printer guy make up a set as well as a special battery tray for my EOX. 20 bucks total with Shipping.

I have been using Open Pilot boards since there first production.
They were way ahead of thing. Now with the Naze32 and similar boards, theres a lot of competition.
I love the board, especially the PC software.
I have a naze32, but haven't tried it yet. Looking through the software, its not as polished, or as intuitive as the OP one.

The Nylon Dampers are there to reduce any vibes coming from the motors to the frame.

Testing a Flip32 board.
Love the feeling of it. Feels very locked in on the settings I have dialled in.
Here is the first flight.

That was a awesome flight. Plenty of orientation test there.
I can't believe how smokin' fast that was.
2:42 was a great move. And loved the slice through the trees at 3 minute mark.
Thanks for the upload.

That was a awesome video Lee. Cant wait to get my quad in the air. It just came today I just opened the box.
Im going to use nylon spacers like you did for vibrations and to give me room between the bottom frame plates for the PDB.

Didn't go quite so well this evening.
It was all over the place. Motors RPM were fluctuating badly.
Turns out my camera mount and the camera were shorting out to the frame.
Made a better job of isolating the board cam now, and no more shorting.
Test again tomorrow.

Yea got my spacer back from the printer the other day. Look pretty good. He stated he used 100 percent fill to make them. Waiting on the fpv toys and then going to tear it down and tidy everything up.

Hi Lee,

I just bought my RCX last 2 weeks ago and accidentally crashed. After crashing, 1 motor got busted. Now my problem is that after replacing same motor (same specs as suggested by myrcmart), it's kinda fluctuating and not turning same as the other 3. My second problem, I bought Devo 7 to replace my Devo 7e but cant seems to pass the TX calibration as FMD switch is not being detected. :(

Hope you can help or someone from this forum can.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Sen

While your waiting on Lee...
Maybe I missed it but what control board are you using?
After replacing the motor did you recalibrate all of the ESC's
Also are you using bullet connectors or are you soldering the motor wires.
If solder then make sure all connections have a good solid solder point.
As per the Devo, I can only state from experience in my DX8 but is that
switch enabled on the TX?

This is exactly what I was going to post.

Hi, Clay, Tony,

I'm using CC3D. Yes, I did the ESC calib using GSC. ESC's are being soldered.

Also, I believed the FMD switch was enabled. I set them as
---- MODEL->FM SW = FMD
---- MODEL->FM FM TRM = FMOD

Please advise if I did it right. Thanks.
